Yandoit Church Restoration

Built in 1884 by Swiss-Italian settler, Giacomo Satori, the Yandoit Church is a beautifully refurbished, award-winning country retreat in the Victorian countryside.

Josh White, architect and builder at Spa Country Builders, bought the Giacomo Yandoit church with plan to restore a local landmark and create a beautiful family home.

He entrusted the Stegbar team with the restoration and installation of custom western red cedar windows within the historic church building. In the modern two-storey addition, White selected a range of Stegbar aluminium awning, casement and fixed windows, as well as hinged and sliding doors. Energy efficiency was a priority for the home with all windows double glazed, WERs graded and large Alumiere windows on the northern side of the home to capitalise on passive solar heating for the crisp Victorian winters.

Winner of Best Use of Windows and Doors in a Residential Renovation Award at the 2016 Australian Window Association (AWA) Design Awards, Yandoit Church is now a sought-after getaway spot, hosting up to 6 people only moments from the popular Daylesford area.
