Does Stegbar complete any structural or building work?
Stegbar supplies and installs custom-made windows and doors but does not provide structural modifications, engineering, permits or building services. During your consultation, our Sales Consultants can help identify what may be considered structural work and what may not. For example, items such as flashing, trimming and packing are generally part of the window and door installation process, while works such as corner posts, nib walls and lintels typically require a qualified builder or licensed contractor. If structural work is required, we can help guide you on the next steps for your project.
Will enclosing my alfresco area make it completely weatherproof?
Our windows and doors are manufactured to meet Australian Standards for wind and water penetration performance. However, because alfresco areas, patios and other outdoor spaces were not originally designed as habitable rooms, we cannot guarantee that the completed area will achieve the same water penetration performance as a purpose-built internal room.
Factors such as existing decking, flooring, drainage, mortar gaps and other surrounding building elements can influence the overall weather resistance of the space. During your consultation, your Stegbar Sales Consultant can discuss your project and identify any existing site conditions that may affect the performance of the enclosed area.
How long does it take to enclose an alfresco area?
Because every project is custom-made, lead times can vary depending on your location, product selection and the complexity of the installation. In many cases, projects can be completed within a few weeks of your consultation, with the installation itself often taking as little as one to two days.
Your Stegbar Sales Consultant will be able to provide a more accurate timeframe based on your specific project and location. The best way to get started is to book a consultation and discuss your requirements with our team.
